One of the things I love about my job is that the IT department gets the new toys and our old toys are filtered to the rest of the company. This puts the latest and greatest power machines in the hands of the power users which is the way things should be! I used to get quite offended when the management at a company would be sporting $3,000 tablet pcs to run powerpoint and outlook while the development team was running 2-3 year old hand me downs.So we were looking to get a few new laptops for the IT team...
Ready to pull my hair out over this one.Decided to use System.Transactions in my latest project, so being I'm doing my development on my local machine with a dev SQL Server 2005 install on a 2k3 machine I need to turn on MSDTC stuff...So running the code that uses system.transactions on the server works fine, if I run the same code from my workstation calling the server I getNetwork access for Distributed Transaction Manager (MSDTC) has been disabled.
