  • Welcome Guiseppe Scarfone to TheRuntime.com

I just wanted to mention that we added a new blogger here on theruntime.com (actually we have a few more in the pipeline. Guiseppe (“G” hereafter) is my workplace’s resident Reporting Services guru. He’s gonna focusing on Reporting Services (duhh), SSIS (which he also does), and Analysis Services (an area I bet most of us could use some additional knowledge of). He already put up an intro post here.

  • Theruntime.com is no more… Hello ALT.NET… NOT!

At MIX09, i got an opportunity to really sit down with a number of the folks in the ALT.NET community, most notably Christopher Bennage and Rob Eisenberg of Bluespire Consulting. They walked me through a few scenarios and showed me some code and how they do things. It all is started to making sense. i have been quietly plugging/pushing ALT.NET methodologies/tools over the last 2 weeks at work… The final straw happened yesterday where i was espousing refactoring our current architecture to a new architecture using SOLID principles and BDD to help us get there when a blog entry from this...

I have tried to correct the problem... sometimes I swear that no one who develops for SubText really tests on community-based sites). Thomas has been blogging for almost as long as I have (4 years). He specializes in SQL and VB. Check out his stuff! Oh yeah, he’s our first non-US blogger (he’s from the land down under).

  • Welcome to the new TRT

Ok, so you probably are reading this via RSS (most people do), so instead of forcing everyone to come to the site to see it; here’s a screen shot (IE7 although all other major browser see it just the same) Anyway, we are now using SubText (the blog software I originally wanted to use). There’s a gory story for why we are here now which I’ll save for a rant later. The only real thing you need to be aware of is that if you want your picture to appear in comments register your email...
