Hurricane Frances update 9-8-04

Hurray, we have power!  I've created a gallery and uploaded a single image.  I have more pictures on my camera, when I have a chance I'll upload them.

Since I can never say something is good without complaining about something else (I think it's an upbringing thing... my parents are far worse than me), I still don't have cable yet, so no Internet at home (and therefore no phone... my wife wants to ditch Vonnage as a result).

BTW, there are still people without power.  I work with a guy who hasn't had power since Saturday morning (when you have kids, this really stinks!)

Yep I hear you on that. And do not forget about the shortages that are rampant everywhere. I would highly recommend keeping your car full of gas at all times. Where I live (which is in Sarasota/Bradenton) we are the area where people from all of the affected areas go to get supplies which means we are left short locally. Please keep your car full otherwise you may be left out when the next hurricane comes.

<br>Yes some areas of Manatee/Sarasota were affected by a power outage but not as large as in Tampa and surely not as large as in Punta Gorda or Wachula. Waiting for IVAN to come along next week. Be prepared.
