Analyzing the web traffic of the jobs site

So here's what I'm learning after our first two weeks of free job ads on our job site:Our ads are doing pretty well for number of eyes.  The job ads are getting more than 75 "real page views" (this means people actually visiting the ad page, not click-throughs and aggregate views).  I tend to value eyes on the actual site higher. The majority of job seekers hit our site between Tuesday and Thursday. Our viewers are mostly in United States metro, but there is a surprising number of subscribers from Europe (European companies, get posting!).It's pretty fun matching up our Google Analytics...

Codebetter Jobs :: Free Posts, Affiliates, and Questionaire Feedback

Couple of things to announce here today. 1. We are offering free posts throughout the launch period (expires 10/25/2006).  After the launch period, job ads will cost $350 which is less than most of your big spam sites like Monster, and of course you get all the benefits of aggregating your job feeds to our affiliate list which has doubled in size in less than 24 hours.2. We've had several of our readers inquire about affiliates/referrals for non-bloggers.  The answer is yes we will be launching a referral program for non-bloggers.  This means the readership will be able to refer friends,...

Codebetter Jobs, Day 1

It's nice to see things start to roll.  We've had many affiliates sign up (affiliates, if you have logos, you should email them to us to get a backlink on our site) and when looking at various traffic statistics the summation of codebetter and our affiliates is quite impressive!Hopefully the job ads will continue to trickle in.  Well, a raging torrent would be nice too, but a trickle is fine for now.  =)

Minirant : Paypal

Dear Paypal,Your api documentation and setup process... what's the right word... sucks.  The sign up process is pretty confusing with menu overload, and the fact that you need dozens of third party vendors to build wrapper carts says something about the ease of use of your API.Please fix this, there is no reason why in this modern day someone shouldn't be able to wire into your site in 5 minutes or less.

Codebetter does job searches better!

It is undeniable that the blogosphere is becoming a prime time source of networking, information, and advertising.  With this in mind, we've been watching the evolution of blogging.  Authors like Scott Hanselman and Sahil Malik, business owners like Joel Spolsky and Eric Sink all are using the blogosphere to help others in their professional development and other ventures. Recently, the blogosphere evolved again, this time with blog sites like Joel's and 37signals offering basic job boards.  These have been fairly successful, but at the same time I began thinking that while these sites are useful, they don't really support the blogosphere all...

Samsung Syncmaster 225BW

So I finally relinquished my 19" sony trinitron CRT monitor and upgraded to the Samsung SyncMaster 225BW LCD which is a 22 inch widescreen which I picked up from newegg on their daily specials last week for $376.  I must say this monitor is fantastic!  I have more screen real estate than I feel like I know what to do with.  The colors are vibrant, no dead pixels, and as usual newegg service was great.I can't wait to find a nice corner desk where I can stick two of these bad-boys!
