Sahil just posted a nice little primer for getting started with the FOR XML clause in sql 2005. Good start, however I feel like he missed a technique.One of my major gripes with working with FOR XML is when you have to join more than 2 tables in your query. I think most people who have been in the IT industry for an average amount of time can agree with my perception that for the most part, the consulting industry is garbage. A modest proposal (off topic)

Simple rant, nothing more.  Just sent in some immigration papers for my wife, who is a Swedish citizen who came here when we got married.  The paperwork carried a $275 processing fee.This brings the total since she came here two years ago to be well over $2,000 plus the time we had to spend apart while they processed our petition to begin with.  I can see why immigration reform is necessary from personal experience.That being said I hope people can understand why the illegal immigration/amnesty situation being bantered around by congress really gets under my skin.  Here I am, a...
